Isn't it normal to be unpredictable..

As human beings, we despise chaos. We want circumstances, relationships, others and ourselves(!) to be stable, consistent, predictable.
But I wonder, what if it's not possible. What if change really is the only constant.

I was talking to a friend, and suddenly he said,
                       "Life is always wanting balance.
If you attain balance, it will disturb that too,
and then you need a new balance.
So, there is no fixed balance as such, it keep changing
It may have served you to have certain constraints in the past
It maybe now time to loosen some
and then get back some others, to get to a new equilibrium"

So, how can consistency be 'normal' in a universe which has it's foundations in the principles of uncertainty.
Rigid notions of right/wrong, appropriate/inappropriate may be comfortable, but not necessarily normal.

Life, by definition, is the present moment.
Aren't premeditated responses to circumstances, by definition, dead then?

Aah *aaha moment*, now I see why all spiritual traditions emphasize on living in the moment.
The moment will perhaps bring out the response most appropriate to it. Is that what's called magic?

  1. I fully agree with what you say. Entire Indian culture is just an attempt to balance things off(from bindi to temples). But the very idea of thinking that you are balancing yourself off is itself an unbalancing act (CS logic :P). (In the sense that it should be natural without you thinking about it). So, it points in the direction that you should balance this very thought of yourself i.e. soul. Read more about Panpsychism. This should take you a long way.
